Franci Wayland, PRA Group’s Senior Counsel, Government Relations and Public Policy, Wins RMAI President’s Award

Franci Wayland, Senior Counsel, Government Relations and Public Policy for PRA Group won Receivables Management Association International’s (RMAI) 2019 President’s Award. The President’s Award acknowledges individuals who have contributed greatly to the organization’s goals and offered original solutions to benefit its members.

RMAI is a professional trade association that represents over 500 businesses in the performing and nonperforming receivables industry. The organization often serves as the voice of these businesses and advocates for fair industry policies.  In 2019, RMAI faced a record number of legislative challenges across several states. Wayland earned the President’s Award for her ability to build relationships with key individuals, educate lawmakers, and promote legislation that focuses on RMAI member priorities and protects customers.

According to RMAI, “Sonia (Sonia Gibson, National Government Affairs, Encore Capital Group also received the President’s Award this year) and Franci worked tirelessly to defeat these efforts and improved the legislators’ general understanding of the credit ecosystem. …Their work, not only in New York but in other states as well, established a process that puts the industry on better footing in 2020 as the State Legislative Committee again returns to several state legislatures to advocate for members. This award is not only intended to recognize their efforts, but to thank them for their commitment and perseverance, benefiting all of RMAI’s member companies.”
