Celebrating Pride at PRA Group

NORFOLK, VA – To kick off Pride Month, PRA Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRAA), a global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans, celebrated Pride Week by inviting employees to explore resources and learn more about the influence members of the LGBTQ+ community have had on past and present events, including the advancement of human rights, culture and leadership.

To kick off the month-long celebrations, the company invited employees to explore resources and learn more throughout Pride Week. As part of this initiative, PRA Group hosted a virtual lunch and learn for employees in partnership with The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and mental health organization for LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning) young people.

Representatives from The Trevor Project explained how to speak empathetically about suicide and mental health, as well as ways community members can personally contribute to The Trevor Project’s mission to save young LGBTQ lives.

“PRA has always been committed to serving the communities where we work and live,” said Tara Borchers, head of Diversity & Inclusion and HR Technology. “As we’ve matured our Diversity and Inclusion program, we’ve challenged ourselves to learn more about underrepresented groups so that we can be intentional about the collective impact we can have—locally as well as across the globe. Organizations like the Trevor Project help us engage as advocates and allies as we share their sense of urgency to support LGBTQ youth and adults.”

PRA Group also encouraged employees to demonstrate how they identify with Pride or support as an ally by wearing different colors of the Pride Flag daily. The company helped employees share photos with loved ones and their personal stories to inspire their colleagues.

“My partner Leigh and I are celebrating three years together this month! We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to be able to live our truth because we recognize that even in 2022, there are so many people who cannot do the same,” said Courtney Herrick, communications specialist for PRA Group. “Collectively, we must work together to create an inclusive, equitable space for everyone. May this caption be a reminder to give, spread and receive love unapologetically, not just in June, but every month. Happy Pride!”
