PRA Group Celebrates Expansion into Danville, VA

PRA Group celebrated the opening of its Danville, VA location with a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception. PRA Group’s third location in Virginia will bring 300 jobs to the Danville community, contributing to long-term growth and opportunity in the area.

The event was held on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. ET. Speakers included PRA Group President and CEO Kevin Stevenson, Danville Mayor Alonzo Jones, Senator Frank M. Ruff, Delegate Glenn Davis, Delegate Danny Marshall, and Tobacco Commission Executive Director Evan Feinman.

“This is an incredible opportunity for our company as the city of Danville has a talented workforce ready to partner with us on this new, exciting venture,” said Stevenson. “We are looking forward to working with the Danville community for a long time and contributing to the city’s success.”

First announced in December 2018, the new call center represents a collaboration between the public and private sectors to provide quality employment opportunities for communities across Virginia, particularly those struggling with economic mobility.

“PRA Group’s new location in Danville is a part of Virginia’s economic development strategy to ensure all parts of the state have a chance to thrive financially and ensure success for their communities,” said Senator Frank M. Ruff. “This is a smart investment in Danville and I’m thrilled to be a part of this opening.”

Demonstrating its commitment to long-term growth in Danville, PRA Group recently purchased the building in Airside Industrial Park. The company is now renovating the property with plans to be operational by early next year. Attendees of the ribbon cutting were able to preview the property through self-guided tours.

“Today’s ceremony marks another huge step forward for Danville,” Mayor Alonzo Jones said. “PRA Group is a high-caliber business that will provide vital new employment opportunities for our citizens. Its purchase of this building underscores the company’s commitment to our city, and we expect them to be a corporate citizen for years to come.”

Over the next few months, the company will hold job fairs and training opportunities for residents in and near the Danville area.

“PRA Group’s Danville opening represents a great collaborative effort between the company, the Tobacco Commission, the city of Danville, and the Commonwealth,” said Delegate Danny Marshall. “This partnership is a powerful example of what happens when we work together to attract viable industry to this area, providing quality economic opportunities for our region.”
