PRA Group Earns Global Biorisk Advisory Council
STAR Facility Accreditation™
Norfolk, Va., December 17, 2020 — PRA Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRAA), a global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans, today announced it has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council’s STAR™ accreditation (GBAC STAR), indicating its high standards for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention.
The GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation Program is the cleaning industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation for facilities. The organization helps companies establish protocols and procedures, offers expert-led training and assesses a facility’s readiness for biorisk situations. This accreditation confirms that PRA Group has implemented best practices to prepare for, respond to and recover from outbreaks and pandemics including the COVID-19 pandemic. Each of PRA Group’s United States facilities are now GBAC STAR™ accredited, becoming the first call centers to earn this accreditation.
“PRA Group continues to prioritize keeping our employees, customers, and partners safe during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond,” said Kevin Stevenson, president and chief executive officer of PRA Group. “The GBAC STAR™ accreditation verifies our facilities are clean and sanitary spaces where we can continue to service our customers in the same professional and respectful manner as we have for the last twenty-four years.”
To achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation, PRA Group was required to demonstrate compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.
“GBAC STAR accreditation empowers facility owners and managers to assure workers, customers and key stakeholders that they have proven systems in place to maintain clean and healthy environments,” said GBAC Executive Director Patricia Olinger. “By taking this important step to pursue GBAC STAR, PRA Group has received third-party validation that it follows strict protocols for biorisk situations, thereby demonstrating its preparedness and commitment to operating safely.”
