Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Vikram (Vik) Atal is president and CEO of PRA Group, Inc., a global leader in the nonperforming loan industry serving millions of consumers worldwide. Atal joined PRA Group’s board of directors in 2015. Since being named president and CEO on March 27, 2023, Atal’s collaborative leadership continues to drive PRA Group forward in the strategic focus, values, and responsibility to the community that have been key to the company’s sustained performance.
Before joining PRA Group, Atal held various senior executive roles over the course of a 27-year career with Citigroup, Inc. From 2008 to 2013, he was an executive vice president for Citigroup’s global consumer bank, where he had responsibility for shaping Citi as an information-centric enterprise and leveraging analytics and data to drive growth. He also successfully managed $200 billion of high-risk consumer assets during the 2008 financial crisis. From 2005 to 2008 Atal served as chairman and chief executive officer for the North America card franchise, where he oversaw operations spanning 50 countries, 30,000 employees, and 60 million customers. In this role, he achieved record results – including revenues of $18 billion – amidst a changing regulatory landscape.
His previous roles with Citigroup included leadership of partnership programs for Citi Cards, chief financial officer of Citi’s U.S. cards franchise, and overseeing SEC, regulatory and business financial reporting for Citicorp. He is a member of the board of Goldman Sachs Bank USA and has served as a senior advisor to both McKinsey & Company and venture investment firm MissionOG. Atal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi, India, and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Pete Graham serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer for PRA Group. Graham is a seasoned finance executive with more than 20 years focused on the financial services industry across a broad range of sectors including lending, leasing, insurance, and asset management. Prior to joining PRA Group in 2016, he spent 14 years with General Electric Company (GE) in a variety of executive finance roles within GE Capital. His previous positions within GE Capital include chief financial officer for GE Commercial Distribution Finance and GE Capital Markets. Graham also served as global controller for Treasury and Global Funding Operations and controller and manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for GE Asset Management. Prior to joining GE, Graham was with KPMG LLP for 10 years, where he led audit and advisory teams serving financial services industry clients in insurance, banking, and asset management. His tenure with KPMG included three years living and working in Switzerland while leading teams across Europe. Graham earned his B.A. in accounting from the University of Connecticut and is also a certified public accountant.
As chief information officer (CIO) of PRA Group, Jan Husby drives information technology and business applications at a strategic level across the company's global platform. Husby is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience in the information technology field. He joined PRA Group through the acquisition of Aktiv Kapital in 2014, where he served as CIO of Europe for eight years. There, he supported operations in nine countries, including investment activities, call centers, legal offices, analytics, and other foundational functions. Prior to joining PRA Group, Husby served as Aktiv Kapital's CIO for over seven years. As a member of the senior leadership team and credit committee, Husby led a variety of impactful projects and streamlined systems and capabilities across their Europe and Canada locations. Previously, Husby was co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) for two startup technology companies. He also served as CTO and then head of the Corporate Customer Division over his four-year tenure with Zurich Financial Services Norway. Husby earned his master's degree in Computer Science from Cornell University and his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
As global investments officer, Owen James is responsible for driving PRA Group's global investment strategy, guiding the company's expansion into newer markets, and actively exploring opportunities to grow the core business across clients, products, and geographies. With over 30 years of industry experience, James has been with PRA Group for more than a decade. Most recently having served as managing director of acquisitions, he has led the company’s investments in Europe and has served on the European senior management team. In 2022, James also began leading investments in the Australian market. James joined PRA Group as part of the Company’s first entry into Europe through the acquisition of Mackenzie Hall Holdings in 2012.
Elizabeth Kersey serves as senior vice president, communications and public policy for PRA Group. In this role, she leads PRA Group’s state and federal government relations efforts, oversees internal and external communications, executive communications, public and media relations, corporate giving, and employee engagement. Elizabeth has nearly twenty years of public affairs experience across various sectors including higher education and state and local government. Prior to joining PRA Group, she served as the assistant to the president for local, state, and federal government relations at Old Dominion University. She has also served as the director of state and federal government relations for the City of Hampton, Virginia. Elizabeth worked for the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia, serving as the director of communications and government relations. Elizabeth is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and Old Dominion University. She currently serves on the boards of Virginia FREE, the Elizabeth River Trail Foundation, and the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Martin Sjölund serves as president of PRA Group Europe. Sjölund previously acted as director of group strategy and corporate development in Europe for Aktiv Kapital from 2011 until 2014, when PRA Group acquired Aktiv Kapital. Sjölund held the same position within PRA Group until November 2015 when he was appointed chief operating officer of Europe. Prior to joining Aktiv Kapital, he held positions of increasing responsibility in sales and strategy from 2009 to 2011 with Tandberg, which was acquired by Cisco Systems in April of 2010, and was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in Singapore and London from 2005 to 2009. Sjölund holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.
As chief human resources officer (CHRO) and general counsel, LaTisha Tarrant brings more than 20 years of public company experience to her role leading PRA Group's global human resource operation. Throughout Tarrant's tenure with PRA Group, she managed U.S. corporate legal matters, led environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, and advised the board of directors on incentive compensation, executive compensation, and corporate governance matters. She also oversaw the search and onboarding of directors, earning PRA Group recognition as a "3+" company with at least three women as directors. Before joining PRA Group in 2016, Tarrant held roles with increasing responsibility, serving as managing associate general counsel at Anthem, Inc. (now Elevance Health, Inc.), and as senior counsel and a partner at McGuire Woods, LLP. Tarrant holds a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in international relations from William & Mary. Tarrant serves on the board of directors for Sentara Healthcare.
As chief risk and compliance officer, Laura White has primary responsibility for the day-to-day implementation and oversight of PRA Group’s risk management programs. White has direct and regular access to PRA Group’s board of directors and reports to the board’s risk committee. She has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry. White was previously chief risk and compliance officer for Allianz Global Assistance, Americas, where she was responsible for risk management and compliance, including operational risk, internal controls, business continuity, and regulatory compliance. Before joining Allianz, she was senior manager of corporate planning for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and was a commissioned bank examiner for the Federal Reserve System. Prior to holding these positions, White was a senior financial analyst for Capital One Financial Corporation. White earned a B.S. in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University. White currently serves on the board of RVA757 Connects.
