Martin Sjolund is president and CEO of PRA Group, Inc., a global financial services company and trusted leader in the nonperforming loan industry. Through the purchase and collection of nonperforming loans, PRA Group companies return capital to banks and other creditors to help expand financial services for consumers in the Americas, Europe and Australia.
With more than 14 years of experience in the financial services industry and more than a decade at PRA Group, Sjolund’s business acumen and institutional knowledge – combined with his collaborative approach to leadership and commitment to culture – are integral to the company’s sustained performance.
Before becoming president and CEO, Sjolund served as president of PRA Group Europe since 2018, where he provided leadership across 15 markets in Europe, Canada and Australia. During his tenure, Sjolund oversaw nearly $3 billion of successful portfolio investments across Europe, all while significantly improving the profitability of the European business.
He led the company’s expansion into two new markets, modernized information technology infrastructure and contact platforms, enhanced the data and analytics function and ultimately created one of Europe’s most cost-efficient debt buying and servicing platforms.
In November 2015, Sjolund was promoted to chief operating officer of Europe, after acting as European director of group strategy and corporate development for Aktiv Kapital from 2011 until PRA Group acquired the company in 2014.
Prior to joining Aktiv Kapital, Sjolund held positions of increasing responsibility with Cisco Systems, McKinsey & Company and Ericsson. Sjolund earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.
As chief information officer (CIO) of PRA Group, Jan Husby drives information technology and business applications at a strategic level across the company's global platform. Husby is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience in the information technology field. He joined PRA Group through the acquisition of Aktiv Kapital in 2014, where he served as CIO of Europe for eight years. There, he supported operations in nine countries, including investment activities, call centers, legal offices, analytics, and other foundational functions. Prior to joining PRA Group, Husby served as Aktiv Kapital's CIO for over seven years. As a member of the senior leadership team and credit committee, Husby led a variety of impactful projects and streamlined systems and capabilities across their Europe and Canada locations. Previously, Husby was co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) for two startup technology companies. He also served as CTO and then head of the Corporate Customer Division over his four-year tenure with Zurich Financial Services Norway. Husby earned his master's degree in Computer Science from Cornell University and his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
As president of PRA Group Europe, Owen James provides leadership across 15 markets in Europe, Canada and Australia. In this role, he oversees portfolio investments across Europe and one of the region's most cost-efficient debt buying platforms. Owen brings more than 30 years of industry experience to his role spanning operations, business development and investments. He has been with PRA Group for more than a decade, most recently serving as executive vice president and global investments officer, where he drove PRA Group’s global investment strategy, including identifying opportunities to grow the core business across clients and markets. Previously, Owen performed various leadership roles in PRA Group’s European business. He joined PRA Group in 2012, when the company acquired Mackenzie Hall Holdings. He also previously worked in senior roles for more than 15 years at Intrum, a major European debt servicer and buyer.
Steve Macke serves as Global Operations Officer for PRA Group, Inc. In this role, he oversees PRA Group’s call centers, legal recovery, digital, and insolvency operations, playing an instrumental role in driving operational execution and improving efficiency across the business. Macke brings more than three decades of industry experience, having spent his career leading all aspects of operations, including collections, default management and recovery strategy, and business planning and analysis for Citigroup. He joined Citi in 1991 as a collector and rose through the leadership ranks, having most recently served as managing director and global head of contact centers. Previously, he was managing director and global head of collections and default management, as well as managing director and global head of workforce management. Macke holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and Finance from the University of Cincinnati.
Adrian Murphy serves as global chief data and analytics officer for PRA Group. In this role, Murphy leads the continued development of cutting-edge data analytic solutions to drive business growth. Murphy has nearly three decades of industry experience. Prior to joining PRA Group in September 2024, Murphy was a partner at McKinsey & Company. He spearheaded client service for major financial institutions and led the company’s Global Fraud Service Line. Murphy was also previously a partner at Oliver Wyman, where he oversaw transformation projects in a variety of divisions, including Banking, Risk and Data, Tech and Analytics, in New York; Financial Services, in Sao Paulo; and Banking and Finance and Risk, in London. Early in his career, he was an engineer at Ford Motor Company. Murphy holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in manufacturing engineering from the University of Cambridge.
As executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of PRA Group, Rakesh Sehgal is responsible for the company’s global finance organization, including accounting and controls, SEC reporting, tax strategy, funding and hedging, corporate development and investor relations. With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Sehgal previously served as the company's senior vice president and head of corporate development. Before joining PRA Group in 2022, Sehgal held roles of increasing responsibility with General Electric and GE Capital, including as managing director in the mergers and acquisitions group, where he closed over $50 billion in transactions. Prior to his nine years with General Electric and GE Capital, Sehgal was in the investment banking group at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers where he advised specialty finance and other companies on mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance transactions. Sehgal received a master of business administration (MBA) from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree from Ohio Wesleyan University.
As executive vice president, general counsel, and chief human resources officer (CHRO), LaTisha Tarrant brings more than 20 years of public company experience to her role leading PRA Group's global legal and human resources teams. Throughout Tarrant's tenure with PRA Group, she has managed corporate legal matters, including SEC reporting, securities transactions and corporate governance. Before joining PRA Group in 2016, Tarrant held roles with increasing responsibility, serving as managing associate general counsel at Anthem, Inc. (now Elevance Health, Inc.), and as senior counsel and a partner at McGuire Woods, LLP. Tarrant holds a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in international relations from William & Mary. Tarrant serves on the board of directors for Sentara Healthcare and chairs its audit and compliance committee. She also serves as the president of the Middle Atlantic Chapter for the Society for Corporate Governance Professionals and as a commissioner for the Certified Corporate Governance Professionals Commission.
Keith Warren serves as chief risk and compliance officer at PRA Group, where he oversees enterprise-wide risk, compliance, and risk governance. Keith has more than 30 years of compliance, legal, and operational risk leadership experience across multiple consumer banking and business products and control functions. He most recently served as senior vice president and chief risk and compliance officer for TransUnion, where he led global second line of defense risk and compliance, supporting businesses and products in more than 35 countries. Prior to joining TransUnion, Keith served in numerous financial services executive leadership roles at companies like Barclays Bank U.S., Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, and Bank of America. He was also in-house counsel for First North American National Bank, State Farm Bank, HSBC Bank USA, and Bank of America. He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Management and in Communications from Syracuse University, and a Juris Doctor degree from University of Richmond, and is a member of the Virginia Bar Association.
