PRA Group Board Member, Danielle Brown Featured in CIO East Africa

On September 18th, 2020, PRA Group Board Member, Danielle Brown, was featured in the latest issue of CIO East Africa.  

CIO East Africa is East Africa’s leading IT publication that provides peer insight and news related to technology, business strategy, leadership, and innovation. 

“We always have to be focused on how to leverage new technology to enable new processes or help create competitive advantage for the business,” said Danielle Brown, PRA Group Board Member, and VP and CIO of Brunswick Corporation. “Change also helps grow people. They grow by learning new technology and how to apply it to solve business problems.”

Throughout the interview, Brown shares her insight on becoming a change champion, driving strategic business value, and becoming an effective leader of change. Instead of being caught off guard, Brown advises that leaders, specifically CIOs, should view change as an opportunity to bring their expertise and perspectives that may otherwise go unnoticed.

“It’s so important for IT leaders to recognize that this is their role. You are a part of the business, not a separate entity that gets involved only after others engage you in strategies they’ve developed.,” Brown said. “You have to have a seat at that table and, more importantly, a voice at that table, because your voice is based on a vantage point that others don’t have.”

Danielle Brown is Vice President and CIO of the Brunswick Corporation and has served on the PRA Group Board of Directors since 2019. In these roles, Brown oversees issues related to risk, governance, and culture.
