PRA Group’s $50,000 Will Double Summer Donations to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore
NORFOLK, VA – PRA Group committed $50,000 to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore to launch the Summer Matching Gift program, giving every donation made to the Foodbank twice the impact.
A global leader in nonperforming loan solutions, PRA Group is a long-time partner of the Foodbank, which is local to the company’s headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia.
During the school year, PRA Group donated $100,000 to the Foodbank’s BackPack Program, which supplies children and their families with backpacks full of nutritious, non-perishable and easy-to-prepare food over weekends and holidays when they do not have access to school meals.
When children are on summer break, they no longer receive weekly backpacks to take home to their families from school. To compound that gap, the Foodbank historically sees a fall in overall donations. The Summer Matching Gift program was designed to offset this hardship.
“This Summer Matching Gift is an effort to eliminate as much as possible any seasonal interruption to this important food supply program,” said Bob Rey, president of PRA Group subsidiary Claims Compensation Bureau. “We wanted to inspire others to help us fill the summer gap and support the children, families and seniors who rely upon the Foodbank year-round. This Foodbank truly goes above and beyond for our region, and we truly hope this initiative will make the summer months a little easier for it and its clients.”
