Norfolk Botanical Garden Breaks Ground on The Garden of Tomorrow

PRA Group Contributes $50,000 to Conservation and Education

NORFOLK, Va., September 1, 2021 – Norfolk Botanical Garden began work on The Garden of Tomorrow, a multi-million-dollar project to enhance visitor experience, education and conservation, with a groundbreaking ceremony onsite. PRA Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRAA), a global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans, contributed $50,000 towards the organization’s capital campaign for the project.

The Garden of Tomorrow project will transform the current botanical garden into an experience that is even more welcoming, accessible and ecologically friendly. In addition to introducing a covered water education center, a walk-in ticketing system, entry pavilion and a parking garden designed to collect, treat and reuse rainwater and increase parking, The Garden of Tomorrow will feature a 26,000 square foot conservatory with 4 distinct biomes.

“To meet the desire members of our community have demonstrated to immerse themselves in nature, we need to grow,” said Michael Desplaines, president and CEO of Norfolk Botanical Garden. “The Garden of Tomorrow will be an opportunity to connect even more people with an unparalleled experience of nature, rain or shine. We are so grateful to sponsors like PRA Group for making this growth possible so we can serve and educate every visitor well,” he said.

PRA Group is committed to having a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. Since 2009, PRA Group has contributed more than $7.8 million to charitable causes dedicated to strengthening the vitality of communities.
