Year-End Giving Initiatives Inspire the Holiday Season

PRA Group Offices End 2022 Making a Difference in Local Communities

The end of the calendar year is a time of need for nonprofits and those they support around the world, whether they are collecting gifts for children, helping to provide meals and shelter, or blank. Many organizations have come to rely upon this season filled with holiday spirit and generosity to account for much of their funding throughout the year. At PRA Group, we give back to the communities where we work and live year-round, and the holiday season is no exception. As we wrap up 2022, our offices are actively addressing the needs of their local regions by participating in year-end giving initiatives.

Kansas

Our Hutchinson, Kansas, team supported the Food Bank of Reno County and Interfaith Housing and Community Services, Inc., an organization which seeks to alleviate poverty and provide affordable housing for people in central Kansas.

North Carolina

PRA Group’s Burlington, North Carolina, office joined in on the Giving Tuesday efforts by partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont (BBBSCP) to match Giving Tuesday donations dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000. Watch to learn more about why PRA Group supports BBBSCP:

Tennessee

Our offices in Jackson, Tennessee, gave back to Habitat for Humanity Jackson, Tennessee Area Inc. on “Giving Tuesday” to help provide and improve housing for families, a continuation of recent volunteer building opportunities with the organization. The same employees raised upwards of $500 for West Tennessee Healthcare’s Kirkland Cancer Center, which offers access to the latest cancer treatment options and therapies, along with expert physicians and other clinicians.

They are also making holiday wishes come true alongside Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center. Our local office adopted 13 teenagers in foster and kinship care to supply with gifts, and our team members will also volunteer to provide hands-on support at the organization’s Christmas party.

Texas

In addition to the amount raised during the company-wide United Way campaign, PRA Group employees in North Richland Hills, Texas, raised additional funds to support long-time partner United Way of Tarrant County. Between PRA Group and employee contributions, the local United Way chapter will receive well over $15,000, breaking previous team records!

Also, in true holiday spirit, the local PRA Group team shopped for clothing and toys as part of the Angel Tree Program with the Salvation Army Texas Division, helping provide gifts and fulfill children’s wish lists.

Virginia

The Virginia branch of the American Heart Association hosts an annual “Heart Walk” in Hampton Roads, and our employees in and around Hampton, Virginia were there to be of service. PRA Group’s Hampton regional office donated $5,000 to the American Heart Association of Virginia and provided a “hydration station” to participants in this year’s Heart Walk. Not only was this money given to a worthy cause, but the event encouraged families and professionals to get their hearts pumping!

Volunteers from PRA Group’s Norfolk offices helped families shop for the holidays with ForKids, a nonprofit organization that seeks to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty for families and children in Hampton Roads.

Also in the holiday season spirit, PRA Group employees from the Danville office volunteered with the Salvation Army Potomac Division to help sort and distribute contributions to this year’s Angel Tree program.
