Throughout nearly 27 years in business, PRA Group has supported more than 100 charitable organizations around the globe financially and through volunteerism. This holiday season, PRA Group employees around the world wore festive attire to showcase their contributions to year-end giving initiatives. In the U.S., PRA Group employees wore holiday sweaters to celebrate record participation in the company’s 2022-23 United Way Campaign, while in the U.K., employees donned their holiday jumpers as part of a fundraising initiative, “Christmas Jumper Day,” for Save the Children

United Way is on a mission to change the world for the better, and PRA Group is proud to continue supporting this journey. In recent months, PRA Group encouraged its employees to pledge donations to the nonprofit, helping it enact positive change in the local communities in which they work and live. Through this campaign, the company and nearly 400 of its employees pledged over $350,000 to United Way in 2023. The funds will help fulfill the organization’s goal of mobilizing the caring power of communities worldwide to advance the common good.

“United Way has the infrastructure to reach a wide variety of individuals, and their network allows them to make a much bigger impact than I would without them,” said Treena Lauer, global operations controller at PRA Group. “As a wife of a retired Marine, I am especially interested in my donations going to organizations that support the military community, and United Way makes that easy for me to do with the variety of nonprofits that they support. I think we all have a role to play in giving back to our respective communities. For some that could be the gift of their time and for others it’s the gift of money, but when you combine those two gifts, that’s where the magic happens and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

Dennis Lites, PRA Group’s assistant vice president of data science, also shared his reason for giving: “I would like to think that many of the community organizations under United Way have benefited me in my youth. I consider myself a product of the Boys & Girls Club of America and YMCA. Those organizations were there for me after school while growing and learning. Just knowing that I can provide support through donations, volunteering, and/or mentorship for future boys and girls is near and dear to me.”

As a small “thank you” for their contributions, PRA Group invited its employees to wear holiday sweaters to celebrate the campaign’s success.

In a similar fashion, PRA Group’s U.K. and European offices recognized Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day as they made individual gifts for wearing holiday sweaters and participating in an art competition. They raised over €2,100 ($2,300+) in one day. Save the Children serves over 100 countries, giving children a healthy start in life through education and protection programs.

PRA Group is proud to foster an environment where employees are committed to caring for and making an impact on communities worldwide. To learn more about the company’s philanthropic work, visit: https://www.pragroup.com/social-responsibility/
