PRA Group Presents Virginia Aquarium’s South Building Grand Opening Celebration

NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 17, 2024 – PRA Group was pleased to present the grand opening celebration and dedication of the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center’s South Building in Virginia Beach, Virginia. More than 5,900 families, children, and adults of all ages attended on Opening Weekend to explore the newly renovated spaces.

“We are thrilled to welcome guests into our reimagined South Building. This space expands our offerings and education programs, enhancing the overall guest experience,” said Virginia Aquarium President and CEO Cynthia Whitbred-Spanoulis. “The building is designed to be a hands-on, interactive experience that engages all the senses, sparks curiosity for all ages, and inspires conservation of the marine environment.”

Featuring immersive learning experiences for all ages, the South Building includes everything from children’s play areas and a moon jelly touch pool to views of both the North American River Otter habitat and veterinary care center, as well as an interactive water quality lab. 

The South Building also provides space for field trips in its education hall, as well as for special events and programming in its outdoor amphitheater.
