PRA Group Volunteers Support Girl Scouts and United Way Day of Caring

NORFOLK, Va., Sep. 27, 2024 – Each year, PRA Group is proud to kick off United Way’s annual campaign season with the United Way of South Hampton Roads’ (UWSHR) Day of Caring. This annual day of organized volunteer events involves dozens of organizations and hundreds of volunteers throughout Coastal Virginia.  

On Sept. 20, more than a dozen PRA Group colleagues volunteered at A Place for Girls, the headquarters and program center for the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast (GSCCC), in Chesapeake, Va. Volunteers removed old landscaping from the front of the main building and then planted new native Virginia foliage to beautify the entryway. 

PRA Group was one of three teams volunteering with GSCCC, making it their largest volunteer turnout for Day of Caring to date. “Girl Scouts of America is such an important resource in our community to help young girls realize their potential,” said PRA Group Manager of Corporate Events and Community Engagement Jillian Talley. “It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to support both Girl Scouts and United Way.”  

United Way is a longtime community partner of PRA Group. The Day of Caring is an opportunity to build excitement about PRA Group’s annual employee charitable giving campaign. Employees who choose to donate can give to UWSHR’s general fund, or they can designate their pledge support to the nonprofit of their choice. In 2023, the same campaign raised more than $327,000 and was recognized by UWSHR as “Campaign of the Year.” PRA Group was also honored with the “Bronze Trailblazer” award.
