PRA Group Honored in Best of Business Awards
PRA Group, a global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans, is proud to be named the winner in multiple categories in the 9th annual CoVaBIZ Magazine’s Best of Business (BOB) Awards, highlighting the company’s success as a leading financial services organization in Coastal Virginia’s thriving business community.
The company was chosen as the Gold winner for “Best Large Business (101+ Employees)” and “Best Local Company with a National Presence.” PRA Group President and CEO Vik Atal was also honored as the Silver winner in the “Top CEO” category.
Each year, CoVaBIZ Magazine asks their readers and the Coastal Virginia business community to nominate and vote for businesses and individuals who deserve to be recognized as the best in the area. These awards are particularly meaningful, as winners in each category are solely chosen through votes from the public. The full results of the Best of Business Awards will be published in the July/August issue of CoVaBIZ Magazine.

Our Impact
The Best of Business Awards come on the heels of PRA Group’s recognition as a “Social Responsibility Champion” by CoVaBIZ Magazine in March, highlighting the company’s ongoing commitment to philanthropy, volunteerism and engagement in the area surrounding its global headquarters. The company has also been named a River Star Business by the Elizabeth River Project, an honor given to organizations that exhibit strong environmental stewardship in Hampton Roads, Va.
In addition, United Way of South Hampton Roads honored PRA Group with the “Bronze Trailblazer” award in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and “Campaign of the Year” in 2024 for successfully engaging employees through annual company-wide giving campaigns.
Over the past two years alone, PRA Group has donated more than 5,000 volunteer hours and $1.94 million to support more than 160 nonprofits across the Americas, Europe and Australia. The company’s philanthropic giving initiatives include an employee matching gift program and eight paid volunteer hours per year to encourage colleagues to support the communities where they live and work.
