PRA Group is Lighting the Way with CHKD for Children’s Mental Wellness
NORFOLK, Va., August 27, 2021 – PRA Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRAA), a global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans, donated $100,000 to The Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) Lighting the Way campaign. The gift will contribute directly to the construction of a pediatric mental health hospital and outpatient center.
CHKD’s Mental Health Hospital will be a 14-story structure designed with every consideration for the emotional and physical comfort of the youths it will serve. With this building, CHKD strives to transform pediatric mental health services through a design that promotes the arts, physical activity, play, education and recovery as a family, all while upholding the highest standards of medical expertise and patient safety, accessibility and privacy.
“Mental health is one of the primary reasons children between the ages of 10-17 in our community find themselves in the hospital. This sobering fact resonates deeply with PRA Group as a call to get involved and partner with CHKD in meeting these youths’ clear need for timely, top-tier care,” said Chris Graves, global investments and analytics officer at PRA Group. “We have chosen to Light the Way because we know this pediatric mental health facility will change the lives of countless children and families. PRA Group is grateful to CHKD for being a beacon of support for children in a field where there is still a great need for awareness and action.”
PRA Group is committed to strengthening the vitality of the communities in which we live and work. Since 2009, PRA Group has contributed more than $7.8 million to charitable causes dedicated to strengthening the vitality of communities.
