PRA Group Kicks Off 2020-21 United Way Campaign

Company Earned United Way’s Silver Award For Previous Year’s Campaign

On August 17, 2020, PRA Group kicked off its 2020-21 United Way campaign. At the company’s Norfolk, Virginia headquarters, employees participated in the first “drive through” donation drive benefiting ForKids, Inc., a nonprofit serving children and families experiencing homelessness in Hampton Roads.

PRA’s Events and Community Engagement Team designed a contact-less donation drive to guarantee employee safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Employees filled their trunks with bags, baskets, and bins of new and unused household items such as trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper. Then, they drove to a designated parking spot at PRA Group headquarters where a volunteer removed donation items from their trunks. PRA employees contributed 3,460 items to the families that ForKids supports.

“United Way makes a tremendous impact in our communities,” said Kevin Stevenson, PRA Group president and chief executive officer. “PRA Group is proud to join the other businesses, community organizations, and individuals all working together, through the United Way, to help people who need it most.”

PRA has been a longtime partner of the United Way and continues to support its mission as COVID-19 exacerbates issues of homelessness, economic instability, food insecurity, and more. In July, the United Way of South Hampton Roads honored PRA with a Silver Award for its 2019 employee participation and contribution rates. As employees continue to contribute to this important cause, they are supporting children in need, veterans and military families, those who need essential care, and more.
