Remote Volunteer Event Brings PRA Group Teams Together

Nearly 30 PRA Group employees teamed up to volunteer with 15 food banks and nonprofits across the U.S.

In a world where remote arrangements persist and hybrid workplaces are the norm, the work itself is not the only thing that must adapt. An organization’s success depends not only on an individual’s role and responsibilities, but also of its members’ ability to work as an innovative team and feel united in their achievements. It becomes more important than ever, therefore, to have a shared impact.

One way to make a difference is by giving back. PRA Group offers employees across the U.S. paid volunteer time off. To promote volunteerism as a team building opportunity for both in-person and remote teams, the publicly traded financial services company’s Legal Recovery team and the Office of General Counsel (OGC) hosted a national volunteer day for team members to volunteer at food banks and nonprofits across the nation. Nearly 30 team members participated in this event.

The experience helped Legal Recovery and OGC overcome the challenge of living and working in different communities and forge a positive impact in which each of them could share, irrespective of their location.

“We were thrilled to help so many different nonprofits serve our respective local communities and doing so ‘alongside’ our colleagues made it truly special,” said Zulema Green, National Managing Attorney for Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC, a subsidiary of PRA Group. “As much as possible, PRA Group involves its teams around the world in philanthropic and volunteer initiatives, but this national remote event was a first for us. We hope it will be the first of many more to come.”
